Purpose: To seek approval to increase Bristol City Council’s funding contribution for the Habilitation Service to meet current the projected demand for the 2-year extension period (1st April 2026 – 31st March 2028)

Content: At the conclusion of the discussion, the Chair moved the report recommendations.   This was seconded by Cllr Ellie Freeman   The Committee RESOLVED:  UNANIMOUSLY     To approve, subject to meeting the programme requirements, and any associated grant conditions, the acceptance of £6,338,5000 from the Department of Health and Social Care and the Department for Education to deliver the Best Start in Life Family Hubs and Healthy Babies Programme.   To authorise, the Executive Director for Children and Education, in consultation with the Chair for the Committee for Children and Young People to take all steps required to accept and spend the funding including procuring and awarding contracts (including any individual contracts over £500k) necessary for the implementation of the programme from March 2026 to March 2029, in-line with the maximum budget envelopes outlined in this report.
