Purpose: 1.      To inform the committee of the contribution which the council has made to tackling climate change through its delivery of the Bristol City Council Climate Emergency Action Plan 2022-25.  To seek approval for the updated Climate Emergency Action Plan 2026 – 2028 to continue reducing emissions and improving the resilience of the city.

Content: It was RESOLVED that the Committee for Environment & Sustainability:   1.      Noted the progress that has been made in the delivery of the Bristol City Council Climate Emergency Action Plan 2022-25 and the related reductions in council and city emissions of climate changing greenhouse gases. 2.      (8 FOR, 1 ABSTAIN, 0 AGAINST) Approved the adoption and publication of the Bristol City Council Climate Emergency Action Plan 2026-28 to accelerate emissions reduction and improve the resilience of the city whilst delivering local jobs, lower energy bills and cleaner air.
