Content: By 6 votes in favour as per the officer recommendation (Councillors Corinne Garvie, Lisa Redrup, Peter Sandford, Eileen Wilson, Heather Williams, Richard Williams), to 3 votes against the officer recommendation (Councillors Peter Fane, Tumi Hawkins and James Rixon), the Committee refused the application for the reason set out below with delegated authority to officers to make minor amendments to the reason as drafted: · The proposal, by reason of the two storey scale of the proposed dwellings and scale of the associated garages, would introduce a character of the development, which is not considered appropriate to this location and owing to the introduction of increased activity, associated with the residential occupancy of the site, the development would be harmful to the tranquil and secluded character of the site and surrounding area. As such the proposed development would fail to preserve the character of the local rural area. The proposal does not accord with Policies H/16 (b) (i), HQ/1 (a) and Policy S/7 (a) of the South Cambridgeshire Local Plan 2018.
