Purpose: 1.1      This report provides feedback at Appendix A (to be provided at the committee), on the consultation with staff on the proposal for the pay award 2026/27. The report provides at Appendix B the Pay Policy Statement for 2026/27. The Council is required by the Localism Act 2011, to prepare a pay policy statement explaining the policies relating to the pay of its workforce, particularly its senior staff and its lowest paid employees.  The Pay Policy Statement 2026/27, sets out the pay scales and policies that applied from 1 April 2025 and the proposed uplift of the pay scales for 2026/27 subject to the approval of the financial implications by the Cabinet.

Content:   1.     That feedback from consultation with staff on the pay award 2026/27            set out in Appendix A (to be provided at the committee) be noted.   2.     That a local pay award of 3% for all staff* for 2026/27, be recommended to the Council as part of the Pay Policy Statement 2026/27, subject to the outcome of consultation with staff and to the financial implications being recommended by the Cabinet as part of the draft Revenue Budget 2026/27 (*see personnel implications at section 8.)
