Purpose: To consider approving the initial considerations for the Biodiversity Duty. The Environment Act 2021 requires all public authorities in England to consider what we can do to conserve and enhance biodiversity.

Content: 1.         That the Initial Considerations: Biodiversity Duty be adopted to ensure that the Council has an up-to-date strategy in place for the conservation and enhancement of biodiversity assets in Milton Keynes. 2.         That authority be delegated to the Assistant Director of Environment, Waste and Commissioning to make any minor non-material editorial amendments to the Biodiversity Strategy ahead of its final publication.
