This meeting was scheduled to include a discussion about whether an applicant for a taxi driver's licence was 'fit and proper' to hold one.
To consider whether an applicant remains 'fit and proper' to hold a Hackney Carriage/Private Hire Vehicle Driver's Licence
The Sub-Committee was scheduled to consider a report about a taxi driver who had accumulated nine points on their licence for speeding offences. The report suggested that the driver had also failed to notify the council about two of these offences within seven days, which is a requirement of the Council's Taxi Licensing Policy. The report recommended that the licence be revoked.
