Speakers Panel (Planning) - Wednesday, 11th December, 2024 10.00 am
December 11, 2024 View on council websiteSummary
This meeting was scheduled to discuss three planning applications that had been referred to the council's planning committee by residents. The applications were for land on Stamford Road in Mossley, land at Hollybank on Corn Hill Lane in Audenshaw, and 138 Joel Lane in Hyde.
Land on Stamford Road, Mossley
The application for land on Stamford Road, Mossley, (23.00751.FUL) was for the construction of a two-storey detached house with associated access, parking, and landscaping.
138 Joel Lane, Hyde
The application for 138 Joel Lane, Hyde, (24.00857.FUL) was for the erection of a single storey rear extension, a front porch extension and the creation of a new vehicular access.
This application had previously been the subject of an appeal against a refusal of planning permission, and the appeal had been dismissed. The report pack for the meeting included the appeal decision notice (3350291), which found that the proposal would have a harmful impact on the character and appearance of the street scene:
The appellant asserts that, by virtue of the range of materials used in the street scene and the extensions to other properties within the vicinity, the proposal would not appear at odds with the prevailing character of the area. I disagree.
Land at Hollybank, Corn Hill Lane, Audenshaw
The application for land at Hollybank, Corn Hill Lane, Audenshaw, (24.00666.FUL) was a resubmission of a previously refused application for the construction of one detached dwelling with a new access. This application sought to address the reason for refusal given for the previous application by increasing the size of the rear garden.
