December 19, 2024 View on council website Watch video of meetingSummary
The Joint Standards Committee will consider two complaints that have been made against members of the Council. The first is a complaint made about Councillor Rawlinson, and the second is a complaint about Councillors Stratton, Bown and Siddall-Norman.
Standards Complaint - Councillor Rawlinson
The Committee will consider a complaint that has been made against Councillor Rawlinson. The report pack includes the original complaint, which was received by the Monitoring Officer on 17 June 2024, and Councillor Rawlinson's response to the complaint. The Monitoring Officer recommends that the Committee dismiss the complaint on the grounds that
there is no evidence on the information available that Councillor Rawlinson has breached the Code of Conduct in relation to treating others with respect or bullying.
The report pack also includes a letter from Councillor Rawlinson in which she complains that she has been bullied.
Appendix 1 to the report is not publicly available as it contains exempt information.
Standards Complaint - Councillors Stratton, Bown and Siddall-Norman
The Committee will consider a complaint that has been made against Councillors Stratton, Bown and Siddall-Norman. The complaint, which was received by the Monitoring Officer on 23 September 2024, alleges that the Councillors breached the Council's Code of Conduct by failing to treat others with respect. The report pack includes a response from the three Councillors to the allegations, and a recommendation from the Monitoring Officer that the complaint should not be referred for investigation:
Having considered the complaint and the responses, there is, in my opinion, insufficient evidence to support a finding that a breach of the Code is likely to be found on investigation.
Appendix 1 to the report is not publicly available.
