Summary
The Chief Officer Pay Panel met to discuss chief officer pay and conditions, and approved recommendations that had been put forward, subject to an amendment. The panel also agreed to exclude the press and public from the meeting to allow discussion of exempt information. A revised Pay Policy Statement, reflecting the panel's decision, is to be prepared and submitted to Full Council for approval and publication in accordance with s.38 of the Localism Act 20111.
Review of Chief Officer Pay and Conditions
The panel approved the recommendations contained within the report of the Executive Head of Human Resources and Organisational Development, subject to an amendment agreed by the panel. The report was exempt from publication because it contained information which was likely to reveal the identity of an individual.
The panel also instructed that a revised Pay Policy Statement, reflecting the panel's decision, is prepared and submitted to Full Council for approval and publication in accordance with s.38 of the Localism Act 2011. The Localism Act 20111 requires councils to publish an annual pay policy statement.
Exclusion of Press and Public
The panel agreed to exclude the press and public from the meeting, as is permitted under Section 100A (4) of the Local Government Act 19722, because the discussion included exempt information as defined in Section 100(1) of the Act and Schedule 12A. According to the agenda frontsheet, the exempt information was considered to be Part B in accordance with Paragraph 2, Part 1 Schedule 12A as it contains information which was likely to reveal the identity of an individual.
Apologies and Membership
Apologies for absence were received from Councillor Mark Watkin. Councillor Nigel Bell, Group Leader, replaced Councillor Nasreen Shah on the panel for this meeting.
