The Ashbourne Reborn Programme Board met on 19 September 2025 to discuss hostile vehicle mitigation proposals in Ashbourne. Due to the sensitive nature of the information, the public and press were excluded from the meeting.
Hostile Vehicle Mitigation
The board was scheduled to discuss a restricted report providing details on Hostile Vehicle Mitigation (HVM) proposals to be delivered through the Ashbourne Reborn programme.
The agenda noted that the report could not be made public due to sensitivities regarding decision-making, specifically concerning:
information on the location, type and specification of HVM proposed to protect town centre public spaces within the ownership of the District Council.
The report was to be supplemented by an officer presentation.
Exclusion of Public and Press
The Agenda frontsheet stated that the press and public were excluded from the special meeting because the discussion was expected to include exempt information, as defined in Paragraph 3 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 19721.
