Summary
The Kirklees Council Appeals Panel is scheduled to meet on Tuesday 7 October 2025, to consider several school transport appeals. The panel will also be asked to approve the minutes of their previous meeting.
School Transport Appeals
The main business of the meeting is scheduled to be the consideration of four school transport appeals. These are listed on the agenda as:
- School Transport Appeal (Pre-16) - MS
- School Transport Appeal (Pre-16) - HE
- School Transport Appeal (Pre-16) - JH
- School Transport Appeal (Pre-16) - FC
All four appeals are scheduled to be considered in private, because the report pack states that the information they contain is exempt under Paragraph 1 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 19721. The report pack says that this is because the reports contain information relating to individuals, and that the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighs the public interest in disclosing the information.
The report pack indicates the scheduled time for each of the appeals to be heard: MS at 9.30am, HE at 10.15am, JH at 11.15am and FC at 12.00pm.
Approval of Previous Minutes
The panel will be asked to approve the minutes of the meeting held on 9 September 2025. The minutes indicate that at that meeting, the panel:
- Refused an appeal in respect of FC
- Refused an appeal in respect of APD
- Refused appeals in respect of C & B McN
