The Cabinet agreed to adopt a new Workforce to Reflect the Community Strategy and Action Plan 2024-2026, approved the Q3 Contracts Forward Plan for 2024/25 and made recommendations on the future of waste treatment disposal and materials sorting services.

The Cabinet noted the Strategic Delivery and Performance Report Year 3 Quarter 2. They noted the Budget monitoring report 2024-25 – Quarter 2 and that the projected overspend was unlikely to materialise. The Cabinet noted the Mayors Waste Improvement Programme Quarter Two Update and the Reduction and Recycling Plan Progress Report – Qtr 1 and 2, 2024-25. The Cabinet noted the Best Value Report and Draft Directions Update and endorsed the council's response to the draft Best Value Notice. The Cabinet agreed the Housing & Regeneration Scrutiny Sub Committee Challenge Session action plan on the performance of Registered Providers in Tower Hamlets. The Cabinet discussed a range of measures Tower Hamlets Council is taking to assess and improve its performance, and approved plans for housing regeneration at the HAPpy Estate.
Extraordinary Meeting, Overview & Scrutiny Committee - Monday, 30th September, 2024 6.30 p.m.
The Overview & Scrutiny Committee met to consider a call-in of the Cabinet's decision to award new contracts for the provision of domiciliary care services in the borough. Following a lengthy discussion, in which concerns were raised about a lack of transparency in the decision-making process, the Committee ultimately voted to uphold the Cabinet's decision.
