Corporate Parenting Panel - Thursday 23 October 2025 6.00 pm

The Harrow Council Corporate Parenting Panel met to discuss updates and improvements to services for children looked after (CLA) and care leavers. Reports were presented on participation services, children missing from care, care leavers in custody, the leaving care service, an Ofsted monitoring visit, the virtual school autumn term, and health services for CLA. The panel noted all reports and recommendations.

Council - Thursday 18 September 2025 6.30 pm

Harrow Council met to discuss a range of issues, including public safety, education, and healthcare. A motion to demand that the Labour government honour the funding commitment for a new special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) school in Harrow was approved, while motions opposing the Mayor of London's planned closure of Harrow Police Station's front desk and opposing the Labour Government's closure of Mount Vernon's Urgent Care Unit were both carried.

Topics discussed included the council's financial status, street cleaning, road maintenance, and issues related to special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). The committee requested a report on the council's organisation development and workplace strategy for a future meeting.

(Special - ILACS Report), Overview and Scrutiny Committee - Tuesday 8 July 2025 6.30 pm

The Overview and Scrutiny Committee met to discuss the council's response to a recent [Inspection of Local Authority Children's Services (ILACS)][^1] report, which rated Harrow Council's children's services as 'inadequate' overall, despite awarding 'good' ratings to two of the four judgement categories. The committee noted the report and discussed actions being taken to improve the service, particularly for care leavers.
