Skills, Economy and Growth Scrutiny Commission - Tuesday 9 December 2025 7.00 pm

The Hackney Council Skills, Economy and Growth Scrutiny Commission met to discuss the Hackney Transport Strategy 2026-2036, and to review the minutes from a previous meeting and the commission's work programme for the year. The commission received an update on the feedback gathered during the first phase of consultation for the transport strategy, and discussed the content for the proposed draft transport strategy, in preparation for its formal wider consultation. The minutes from the previous meeting held on 11th September 2025 were approved.

Council - Wednesday 26 November 2025 7.00 pm

The Hackney Council meeting on 26 November 2025 addressed key issues including rent controls, the Shoreditch Area Action Plan, and pension fund management. The council approved a motion supporting rent controls and adopted the Future Shoreditch Area Action Plan for submission to the government. Additionally, the council noted the Annual Report of the Pensions Committee 2024/25 and the Gender and Ethnicity Pay Gap 2025 report.

Planning Sub-Committee - Wednesday 19 November 2025 6.30 pm, NEW

The Hackney Council Planning Sub-Committee convened on 19 November 2025 and approved planning permission for three development projects: the Garages at Blackwell Close, the Former Boiler House on Pedro Street, and the Rectory Road Area Office. The committee also approved noting a document of delegated decisions for the period of 24 October 2025 to 6 November 2025, and agreed that the minutes of the previous meeting would be considered at a future meeting.

Corporate Committee - Wednesday 12 November 2025 6.30 pm

The Hackney Council's Corporate Committee convened on 12 November 2025, and addressed several key items including the approval of the Pay Policy Statement for Chief Officers 2026/27, and consideration of the Planning Code of Conduct, which was ultimately deferred for further revisions. The committee also reviewed the minutes from the previous meeting, and noted the latest draft of the Corporate Committee Work Programme for 2025/26.
