Community Funding Application - Burridge AFC

From: Executive Portfolio for Leisure and Community - Thursday, 20th November, 2025 1.30 pm - November 20, 2025

This report presents an application for funding under the Council’s Community Funding Programme.     An application to the Community Fund has been received from Burridge AFC for £1,000 towards the purchase of a Home and Away kit.   Burridge AFC would like to purchase a Home and Away kit for its newly formed U18 girls’ football team for 15 to 17 year olds. The newly formed team has been promoted at local schools and colleges to seek new players.   The football club was formed in 1989 and has been running successfully for the last 36 years. At present, it has four teams, one open-age, two veterans and the newly formed U18 girls’ team which was formed due to high demand. The girls’ team are currently in the League and are using borrowed kit until their own kit can be purchased.   The total cost of this project is £1,436.20. Burridge AFC is looking for £1,000 from the Community Fund, with the remaining amount of £436.20 being funded from its reserves.   As of 6 October 2025, Burridge AFC held £6,710.45 in their accounts. In the accounting year 2024/2025 there was an income of £6,843.79 with expenditure of £17,735.19. There was a high expenditure last season due to £12,586.50 for tractor repairs as seen in their submitted accounts.
