Safeguarding and Education Overview and Scrutiny Committee - Thursday 24th July 2025 10:00am
The Safeguarding and Education Overview and Scrutiny Committee met to discuss deprivation of liberty safeguards, and a new online referral form for adult safeguarding. The committee agreed to add updates on both of these topics to the work programme for the April meeting. The committee also discussed safeguarding standards in extracurricular activities, elective home education, alternative education, and DBS checks for school visits.
Economy, Infrastructure and Communities Overview and Scrutiny Committee - Tuesday 22nd July 2025 10:00am
The Economy, Infrastructure and Communities Overview and Scrutiny Committee met on Tuesday 22 July 2025 to discuss the establishment of a Network Management Working Group, updates to the Work Programme, and to exclude the public from the meeting for items involving exempt information. Councillor Conor Wileman was appointed as the Chair of the Network Management Working Group. The committee also received updates on a site visit to Litchfield Highway Depot, the scheduling of an additional meeting to consider the local transport plan, a site visit to the Staffordshire Highways Laboratory, and a briefing on flood risk management.

The Staffordshire Council Cabinet met on Wednesday 16 July 2025, receiving updates from cabinet members and approving measures relating to street lighting and waste disposal. The Cabinet also reviewed the Treasury Management Report and the Better Care Fund, and they approved the Integrated Performance Report for Quarter 1 of 2025-26.
Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Joint Archives Committee - Thursday 26th June 2025 11:00am
Councillor Hayley Coles, Cabinet Member for Communities and Culture, was appointed chair of the Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Joint Archives Committee, and Councillor Sarah Hill, Cabinet Member for Finance and Corporate Services, was appointed vice chair. The committee approved the annual report detailing the work of the Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Archive Service and the Staffordshire Archive and Heritage Service for the period of April 2024 to March 2025, reviewed and agreed the risk register for the service, and noted the benchmarking exercise comparison. Councillors also noted the 2024-25 final outturn position, the 2025-26 current budget forecast position, and approved a transfer of £16,000 into the Staffordshire County Council general reserve for time-lapsed projects. Finally, the committee approved the updated volunteer policy and noted the use of an updated volunteer agreement.
