Cabinet - Monday 16 September 2024 1.30 pm
The Cabinet noted Southwark Council's award of Borough of Sanctuary status and approved a framework for supporting asylum seekers and refugees. The Cabinet also discussed progress on the Climate Change Strategy and the Biodiversity Duty, reviewed and approved the Local Flood Risk Management Strategy, agreed minor changes to the Neighbourhood Community Infrastructure Levy allocation process, noted the Revenue Monitoring report and approved the use of compulsory purchase powers to acquire the remaining properties in phase 2 of the Tustin Estate redevelopment.
Audit, Governance and Standards Committee - Thursday 5 September 2024 6.30 pm
The committee noted the external auditor's annual report for 2022-23, the audit progress update for the year ending 31 March 2024, and the external audit plan and strategy for the Southwark Pension Fund for 2023-24. They also noted the internal audit progress reports for 2023-24 and 2024-25 and the internal audit annual report and statement of assurance for 2023-24. The committee also noted the draft statement of accounts for 2023-24, approved the annual governance statement for 2023-24, and noted the report of the corporate anti-fraud team and special investigations team. Finally, they noted the HRA update and appointed Councillor Dora Dixon-Fyle MBE to the vacant positions on the audit, governance and standards (standards) sub-committee and the audit, governance and standards (civic awards) sub-committee.
Cabinet - Monday 22 July 2024 11.00 am
The Cabinet of Southwark Council met on 22 July 2024 and made a series of decisions relating to the regeneration of the Aylesbury Estate, the Southwark 2030 vision document, and the procurement of development partners for a range of new housing schemes across the borough. The Cabinet also discussed a number of motions referred from the full Council meeting, including statements about the situation in Israel and Gaza, and the importance of protecting play spaces in Southwark.

The Council Assembly meeting on 17 July 2024 saw Councillors debate and agree motions on the state of social housing in Southwark, the abuse of Councillors, and traffic on Lower Road in Rotherhithe.
