The Constitution Committee of Leicestershire County Council was scheduled to meet on Tuesday 28 April 2026 to discuss proposed changes to the council's constitution, including a new protocol for appointing Honorary Aldermen and Alderwomen. The 2024-25 AGS was approved, and the Director of Corporate Resources was authorised to make necessary updates aligning with the finalised Statement of Accounts and Pension Fund, with changes reported to the Corporate Governance Committee and the Leader. Proposed changes to the Constitution were recommended for approval by the County Council, pending a change to Article 6.06.

Councillors raised concerns about road maintenance, satisfaction with bus services and cycle routes, and the impact of street lighting dimming on crime and road safety.
