The meeting agreed the council's budget for 2024-25. The Executive also agreed to a number of other proposals including the Alton estate renewal plan, the acquisition of 56 sheltered housing units in Springfield Village and the extension of the council's breakfast clubs to all schools in the borough.

Housing Overview and Scrutiny Committee

Agenda and decisions

The committee voted to support the recommendations on all of the reports discussed in the meeting. This included approval of the Alton Renewal Plan, an update on the Winstanley and York Road Regeneration scheme, a report on the Council’s plans to address housing needs and the allocation of social housing in 2024/25 and a report summarising the Leasehold and Freehold Reform Act 2024.

Agenda

The committee agreed to allow the council to use electronic signatures for contracts, and to change the way the council manages replies to motions during council meetings. The committee rejected two amendments put forward by the opposition Conservative group and approved the rest of the proposals put forward by the Labour Group.
