Request for Consent and Agreement on Combined Authorities (Adult Education Functions) (Amendment) Order 2025

...to facilitate the use of the Adult Skills Fund budget for new technical qualifications from 2025, the Executive Board approved providing consent in principle to the Department of Education's creation of a statutory instrument conferring additional funding powers for adult education functions to established combined authorities and delegated authority to the Chief Executive of the Combined Authority, in consultation with the Mayor of the Combined Authority, to finalise and consent to the final draft of the Order.

Agreement for Less than Best lease for the development of Old Cockburn Sports Hall

The decision is for an agreement for lease for Hamara for the site known as Old Cockburn Sports Hall. The site is already subject to a lease to Hamara for 25 years, commencing 2017. The decision is to agree the principle of a new 99-year ground lease to Hamara to facilitate enhanced plans and offer through the proposed re-development plans for the site, which includes the demolition of the current building and the construction of a new purpose built two-storey community building.
