The Cabinet discussed a range of measures Tower Hamlets Council is taking to assess and improve its performance, and approved plans for housing regeneration at the HAPpy Estate.

Longlisting for the post of Director of Adult Social Care, Appointments Sub Committee - Tuesday, 15th October, 2024 6.00 p.m.

This meeting was scheduled to consider the longlisting of candidates for the role of Director of Adult Social Care at Tower Hamlets Council. As the substantive business on the agenda was confidential, the usual arrangements for public attendance did not apply.

Audit Committee - Thursday, 10th October, 2024 6.30 p.m.

The Audit Committee discussed progress on clearing the backlog of audits from previous years, received an update on the current year’s audit and the appointment of new auditors, EY, considered a report on the Internal Audit function of the council including the findings of an External Quality Assessment, discussed the council’s risk management arrangements, and received a report on the council’s treasury management activities.

Council - Wednesday, 2nd October, 2024 7.00 p.m.

The meeting approved the creation of a Mayor's Winter Emergency Fund to provide financial support to pensioners ineligible for the scrapped Winter Fuel Allowance payments, and approved time-banded waste collection regulations. Two motions were also debated, one from the Administration on winter fuel payments and another from the Labour group about the council's homelessness accommodation placement policy.

Human Resources Committee - Thursday, 26th September, 2024 6.30 p.m.

The committee discussed the high number of interim staff at the council, and the recruitment processes underway for several senior roles. A request to extend the contract of an interim member of staff was approved. Concern was expressed about delays in receiving reports for the meeting and about the level of detail contained within them.
