(Special Meeting), Cabinet - Tuesday, 25 November 2025 2.00 pm

The Leicestershire County Council Cabinet met to discuss and approve the business case for local government reorganisation (LGR) in Leicestershire and Rutland, with the aim of streamlining local government and delivering savings. The Cabinet voted to approve the business case for submission to the government by the deadline of 28 November 2025. They also authorised the Chief Executive, following consultation with the Leader, the Director of Corporate Resources and Director of Law and Governance, to make any necessary amendments to the business case before it is submitted to the Government, provided that these do not change the underlying principles of the business case as presented in the report.

Cabinet - Tuesday, 18 November 2025 2.00 pm

The Leicestershire County Council Cabinet met on 18 November 2025, and agreed to consult on a draft School Places Strategy for 2026-2031, decided against a funding transfer from the Schools Block to the High Needs Block of the Dedicated Schools Grant for 2026/27, and approved the council's response to the Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council Regulation 18 Local Plan consultation. The Cabinet also noted the Annual Delivery Report and Performance Compendium for 2025, and the Annual Report of the Traded Services Strategy.

(Extraordinary meeting), County Council - Wednesday, 12 November 2025 2.00 pm

The Leicestershire County Council convened an extraordinary meeting to address the critical matter of local government reorganisation (LGR). The primary focus was to allow the County Council to comment on the proposals for LGR, with a supplementary report containing a draft Business Case also provided. Councillors were also expected to discuss the comments of the Scrutiny Commission on the proposals.

The Leicestershire County Council Local Pension Board met on Wednesday 29 October 2025 in the Framland Committee Room at County Hall. The agenda included a review of the pension fund's administration, indicative valuation results, funding strategy, risk management, and internal controls. Members were also scheduled to discuss future meeting dates and any urgent items raised by the Chair.

The Leicestershire County Council Cabinet was scheduled to meet on 28 October 2025 to discuss a range of topics, including the Investing in Leicestershire Programme, the Local Transport Plan, flood mitigation, rights of way, local plans in Melton, museum policy, and an efficiency review.
