The Licensing Sub Committee meeting of Tower Hamlets Council was adjourned due to the late running of an unrelated court case and will reconvene on the 19th of September 2024.
Licensing Sub Committee - Tuesday, 23rd July, 2024 2.00 p.m.
The Licensing Sub-Committee met to consider three applications for new and varied premises licenses, for Bulabar at 7 Frying Pan Alley, House of Music and Entertainment at 20 Commercial Street, and Gopuff at 60 Hemming Street. The committee approved the applications by Bulabar and House of Music and Entertainment, and adjourned the application by Gopuff to allow for further submissions from the applicant and objectors.
Licensing Sub Committee - Thursday, 18th July, 2024 6.30 p.m.
The Licensing Subcommittee granted the application for a new premises licence for the Carwash site on 1 Quaker Street, London E1 6SZ, with conditions, and denied the application for a new premises licence for Fabwick, Unit 4a Queens Yard, 43 White Post Lane, London, E9 5EN.
Council - Wednesday, 17th July, 2024 7.00 p.m.
The meeting decided that Columbia Road Market, Watney Market and Whitechapel Market should all be officially designated as markets, and also that the market fees at these markets, and at all other markets and street trading spots in Tower Hamlets should increase by 3.1% from September 2024. The meeting also agreed the contents of an interim scheme by which the council will take over the planning powers of the London Legacy Development Corporation ([LLDC]) in September 2024.
Children and Education Scrutiny Sub-Committee - Thursday, 11th July, 2024 6.30 p.m.
The Children and Education Scrutiny Sub-Committee met to discuss the progress that has been made in delivering the council's youth services, including plans to open a youth club in each of the borough's wards. They also discussed the priorities of the Children's Services Directorate for the coming year, and reviewed the Sub-Committee's draft work programme for the 2024/25 municipal year.
