The Children and Families Overview and Scrutiny Committee were scheduled to discuss a range of topics, including the Transforming SEND and Inclusion in Leicestershire Programme, the annual report of the Children's Social Care Statutory Complaints and Compliments, and the Leicestershire and Rutland Safeguarding Children Partnership Yearly Report. Also to be discussed was the performance of the Children and Family Services Department for the first quarter of 2025-26.

Development Control and Regulatory Board - Thursday, 7 August 2025 2.00 pm

The Development Control and Regulatory Board convened on 7 August 2025, addressing key issues including a proposal to allow the back-hauling of low-grade gypsum from British Gypsum in Barrow-Upon-Soar, the construction of an anaerobic digestion plant at Marigold Farm in Great Bowden, and a request to extend the operating hours of the wash plant at Bardon Quarry to 24/7. The board approved the recommendations for all three applications, subject to conditions. Additionally, the board approved several other items, including the installation of a zebra crossing in Wymeswold, the appointment of suppliers for civils materials and hand tools, the appointment of Winter Service Solutions Ltd, a no right turn restriction near Sutton Lodge Farm, declaring land at Poole Farm surplus, selecting a preferred bidder for Birkett House in Wigston, and the creation of a Healthy Leicestershire Digital Solution.
