The Planning and Development Control Committee of Leicester Council met on 1 October 2025 to consider planning applications and related matters. The committee was scheduled to discuss a hybrid planning application for the Corah Factory Site, a plan to build eight dwellings on Austin Rise, and a change of use application for 36 Shirley Road. The Children, Young People and Education Scrutiny Commission met to discuss the financial position of education and children's services, the Edge of Care strategy, and the Youth Justice Plan. The commission noted the Edge of Care strategy and requested yearly updates on its progress, and also reviewed the Youth Justice Plan for 2025-2030, highlighting strategic and operational priorities. The commission also received a presentation on the financial position for Education and Children's Services up to the end of the first quarter to 30 June 2025.

Council - Thursday, 18 September 2025 5:00 pm

Leicester City Council was scheduled to discuss a range of topics at its meeting, including a response from the Department of Health and Social Care regarding GP services, an update to the Community Asset Transfer Policy, and a motion concerning failures in core services. The council was also expected to consider the conferment of the City of Leicester Award to Elvy Morton and Professor Sir Nilesh Samani.

The Leicester Council Governance and Audit Committee met on 17 September 2025, to discuss the annual procurement report, complaints, and internal audit progress. The committee reviewed the Procurement Annual Report 2024/25, the Local Government & Social Care Ombudsman Complaints & Corporate Complaints 2024/25, and the Internal Audit Plan Update 2025/26, and provided comments for consideration. The committee also noted the progress on actions agreed at the previous meeting.
