The Kensington and Chelsea Licensing Committee met to discuss and note the proposed revisions to the council's statement of licensing policy 2026-2031, which is required under the Licensing Act 2003. The committee reviewed feedback from a public consultation and considered amendments to the policy. The updated policy will be presented to the Leadership Team and then to the Full Council for adoption.

Licensing Sub-Committee - Tuesday, 12th August, 2025 11.00 am

The Kensington and Chelsea Licensing Sub-Committee met to consider objections from the police and environmental health to a temporary event notice (TEN) application from Mr Morteza Akbarabadi of Red Planet Pizza for the sale of alcohol during the Notting Hill Carnival. Mr Akbarabadi withdrew his application after it was determined that he had applied for on-sales of alcohol, when he required off-sales. He intends to submit a new application.

Licensing Sub-Committee - Tuesday, 12th August, 2025 2.30 pm

The Kensington and Chelsea Licensing Sub-Committee convened to discuss a temporary event notice (TEN) application for Flat C, 220 Westbourne Park Road, London, during the Notting Hill Carnival. The committee ultimately decided to issue a counter notice, effectively denying the applicant permission to sell alcohol at the premises during the event, due to concerns about crime, disorder, public nuisance, and public safety.
