To seek approval of the revised private hire and hackney vehicle standards. This is to align with the Greater Manchester Clean Air Plan and to enable drivers to be eligible to apply for funding to upgrade their vehicle to a compliant vehicle that meets the emissions standard. *If the government don't agree to open the 'taxi clean air funds' the revised standard will not be implemented*. To avoid delay and disadvantaging our drivers we are to seek approval subject to the government agreeing with the proposal of the Clean Air Management Group.
