The Audit and Standards Committee met to discuss the external audit, the National Fraud Initiative, the internal audit plan, and a proposed addition to the scheme of delegation. The committee agreed to support the proposed addition to the scheme of delegation, which will allow the Director of Finance and Resources to authorise definitive map modification orders when directed by the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. The committee also heard updates on the progress of the external and internal audits, and the National Fraud Initiative.

The Staffordshire Police, Fire and Crime Panel convened for a confirmation hearing regarding the proposed appointment of Sarah Wilkes as the Section 151 Officer[^1] and chief finance officer for the commissioner's office. Following a presentation by Sarah Wilkes and a question and answer session with the panel, the panel resolved to confirm her appointment.

The panel agreed to move the Fire Safety Plan Update to the next meeting and to review the panel's policies and procedures in a separate meeting. The panel also received an information report on the suspension of the Chief Constable.
