The Wiltshire Council Cabinet met on 8 July 2025, and approved a new bat mitigation strategy for Trowbridge and Westbury, and discussed the outline of the new council plan. They also discussed the disposal of council assets and a new traffic signal maintenance contract.
Extraordinary, Cabinet - Tuesday 24 June 2025 10.00 am
At a meeting of the Wiltshire Council cabinet, those present discussed the revenue and capital outturn positions for the financial year 2024-25, as well as the treasury management outturn position. The cabinet approved transfers to and from earmarked reserves, the creation of new earmarked reserves, and a revenue contribution to capital for works related to Salisbury City Hall. They also noted the general fund outturn position, savings delivery, and overspends in the Housing Revenue Account (HRA) and Dedicated Schools Grant (DSG).
Southern Wiltshire Area Board - Thursday 19 June 2025 7.00 pm
The Southern Wiltshire Area Board met to discuss a range of community issues, including the Shared Lives scheme, community safety, and local highway improvements. The board considered a grant application for the Southern Wiltshire Community Area Youth Forum. They also received updates from partner organisations such as the Neighbourhood Policing Team and Alzheimer's Support.

The Officer Appointments Committee met on 5 June 2025, and appointed Councillor Ian Thorn as Chairman of the committee. The main business of the meeting was to conduct interviews and appoint a new Director of Finance and Procurement, a decision which was made in private session.
Council - Tuesday 20 May 2025 10.30 am
The annual meeting of Wiltshire Council saw Councillor Laura Mayes elected as the new chairman, and Councillor Ruth Hopkinson elected as vice-chairman. Councillor Ian Thorne was appointed leader of the council for 2025-2029, and he announced his cabinet. Councillors also voted to delegate decisions on committee appointments to a later meeting, and to authorise work to establish a new financial scrutiny committee.
