The Hackney Council meeting on 17 September 2025 included discussion of climate change initiatives, scrutiny reports, and a motion regarding the two-child benefit cap, which was ultimately rejected. Councillors also approved the annual update on decarbonisation commitments, the Overview and Scrutiny annual report, the Standards Committee annual report, and noted decisions taken under special urgency provisions.

Licensing Sub Committee E - Tuesday 16 September 2025 2.00 pm

The Licensing Sub Committee E of Hackney Council scheduled a meeting to address licensing concerns within the borough. The agenda included a new premises licence application, a request to vary an existing premises licence and a personal licence application. Councillor Richard Lufkin, Councillor Lynne Troughton and Councillor Gilbert Smyth were scheduled to be in attendance.

Licensing Sub-Committee D convened to consider a new premises licence application for 323 Old Street, and to address temporary event notices. Councillor Richard Lufkin, Councillor Sem Moema, Mayoral Adviser Private Renting and Housing Affordability, and Councillor Joe Walker were present. The committee approved the recommendations of a report on treasury management.
