Economy and Enterprise Overview and Scrutiny Committee - Wednesday 18 December 2024 9.30 am

This meeting will include discussions about the Council's housing strategy, and will provide an update on the Supported Housing Improvement Programme and the Council House Delivery Programme. Councillors will also be asked to note the latest financial forecast for the Regeneration, Economy and Growth directorate, and will be asked to note the minutes of a previous meeting.

Chief Officer Appointments Committee - Friday 13 December 2024 12.00 pm

The Chief Officer Appointments Committee of Durham County Council met to discuss the recruitment process for a new Corporate Director of Regeneration, Economy and Growth. It was decided that the recruitment process would commence, using PENNA, an executive recruitment consultancy. The Committee also agreed to permanently move the Head of Transport and Contract Services and the Head of Corporate Property and Land to report to other Corporate Directors.

Safer and Stronger Communities Overview and Scrutiny Committee - Friday 13 December 2024 9.30 am

This meeting was intended to provide the Safer and Stronger Communities Overview and Scrutiny Committee with an update on a range of topics relating to crime and disorder in County Durham. The meeting included presentations about serious violence in the county, the performance of the County Durham Youth Offending Service, and updates on efforts to combat anti-social behaviour and the work of the Horden Together Partnership.

The meeting covered a wide range of topics including a review of performance reports and updates on the Council’s financial position. It also included a report on the development of Local Network arrangements to replace Area Action Partnerships.
