Police and Crime Panel - Tuesday 16 December 2025 1.00 pm

The Durham Police and Crime Panel are scheduled to meet to discuss the Durham Constabulary's implementation of the Right Care, Right Person scheme, and to review the Police and Crime Commissioner's performance and delivery report for the second quarter of 2025/26. The panel will also discuss the annual report from the Independent Custody Visitor scheme, and the National Association of Police, Fire and Crime Panels.

Durham County Council is scheduled to meet to discuss a range of issues, including the Local Council Tax Reduction Scheme, treasury management, and public health. Councillors will also consider motions on waste incineration, poverty among the terminally ill, and support for local farmers.

The Durham County Council convened an extraordinary meeting to consider the conferment of the title of Honorary Alderman or Honorary Alderwoman upon deserving former councillors. The report pack outlined the criteria for eligibility and listed the former councillors who met those requirements.

The Corporate Overview and Scrutiny Management Board (COSMB) of County Durham Council convened on 1 December 2025, to discuss a range of topics, including the Local Council Tax Reduction Scheme, the council tax base, and the Medium Term Financial Plan. The board was also scheduled to discuss the County Durham Partnership, the refresh of overview and scrutiny co-optees, and to review recent petitions received by the council.
