Scrutiny Panel - Monday 7 October 2024 7.00 pm

The meeting highlighted a projected £36.7 million overspend for the current financial year, primarily driven by increased costs in adult social care, children's services, and homelessness prevention. Cabinet - Monday 30 September 2024 5.00 pm

The Hackney Cabinet met on Monday 30 September 2024 to discuss a range of important issues, approving significant funding for the refurbishment of Kings Hall Leisure Centre and the use of the Household Support Fund. The Cabinet also agreed to consult on proposals to close or merge several primary schools dueIn addition, the Cabinet approved a new home to school travel policy and the renewal of a Public Spaces Protection Order relating to alcohol control.

Council - Wednesday 18 September 2024 7.00 pm

This meeting of Hackney Council was scheduled to include the results of recent by-elections, public questions to the Cabinet, the annual update on the Climate Action Plan, the adoption of a policy on Disclosure and Barring Service Checks for elected members, the annual report of the Overview and Scrutiny Panel, appointments to Outside Bodies and the consideration of six motions.

Children and Young People Scrutiny Commission - Wednesday 11 September 2024 7.00 pm

The Children and Young People's Scrutiny Commission met to discuss two key topics; a new approach to the Safer Schools Partnership and proposals to improve housing support for care leavers. The Commission made a number of recommendations to the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) in relation to the role of Safer School Officers in Hackney schools. The Commission noted the update report on housing support for care leavers and agreed to submit any outstanding questions to officers for a written response.

Extraordinary, Corporate Committee - Tuesday 30 July 2024 6.00 pm

This meeting of Hackney Council's Corporate Committee was an extraordinary meeting called to confirm the make up of the council's Planning Sub-Committee. The Planning Sub-Committee is responsible for making decisions on planning applications and other planning matters. A report pack prepared for the meeting explains that the Planning Sub-Committee's membership had previously been agreed at the council's Annual Meeting, but a number of revisions to membership were required . The report asked the Corporate Committee to note the revised membership.
