Children and Young People Scrutiny Commission - Wednesday 11 September 2024 7.00 pm

The Children and Young People's Scrutiny Commission met to discuss two key topics; a new approach to the Safer Schools Partnership and proposals to improve housing support for care leavers. The Commission made a number of recommendations to the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) in relation to the role of Safer School Officers in Hackney schools. The Commission noted the update report on housing support for care leavers and agreed to submit any outstanding questions to officers for a written response.

Extraordinary, Corporate Committee - Tuesday 30 July 2024 6.00 pm

This meeting of Hackney Council's Corporate Committee was an extraordinary meeting called to confirm the make up of the council's Planning Sub-Committee. The Planning Sub-Committee is responsible for making decisions on planning applications and other planning matters. A report pack prepared for the meeting explains that the Planning Sub-Committee's membership had previously been agreed at the council's Annual Meeting, but a number of revisions to membership were required . The report asked the Corporate Committee to note the revised membership.

This meeting was scheduled to include a deputation about the council's response to the Hackney Commission into Affordable Childcare, and reports on the council's financial position, its transformation strategy, and a planned scheme for delegating planning powers from the London Legacy Development Corporation to Hackney Council.

Cabinet - Monday 24 June 2024 6.00 pm

The Cabinet approved the creation of a new Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) covering the whole borough, and agreed in principle to lease air rights above a Council-owned car park to Dolphin Living to build 41 new homes. The Cabinet also noted Hackney Council's financial position as of 31 March 2024.
