...the Cabinet of Stevenage approved a net decrease in General Fund expenditure of £548,850, a net decrease in Housing Revenue Account expenditure of £35,540, and the re-phasing of £9 million each from the General Fund and Housing Revenue Account capital budgets from 2025/26 to future years, while also noting other budget adjustments.

...to ensure the financial resilience of the council for the period 2025/26-2029/30, the Cabinet re-approved the MTFS principles, set council tax increases at the government's assumed threshold, approved updated inflation assumptions, noted the impact of Fair Funding grant funding, approved the approach to balancing the budget, noted identified balancing the budget options, approved a balancing the budget target, approved indicative borrowing costs for the Oval, approved additional funding for the Queensway LLP and the apprentice programme, approved the General Fund growth allowance, approved a minimum level of balances for the General Fund, mandated regular MTFS reviews, and directed consultation with trade unions and staff on the MTFS.
