Governance Committee

The Governance Committee acts as the Council’s Audit and Standards Committee being responsible for:   ·                     Monitoring and reviewing the Council’s audit activity, which includes the internal audit strategy.   ·                     Overseeing the Council’s regulatory framework: contracts, financial regulations and risk management.   ·                     Monitoring the treasury management strategy the sign off the accounts and considering the external auditor’s report.   ·                     Supporting the authority in meeting its statutory duty to promote and maintain high standards of conduct by Councillors.
