Purpose: An opportunity for the Committee to: •comment on the account of the Council’s progress in driving forward equality, diversity and inclusion, which the Council is required to publish under the Public Sector Equality Duty (Equality Act 2010). •consider any proposed amendments resulting from the annual review of the EDI Strategy (following a review by the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Scrutiny Inquiry Panel if required).

Content: DECISION:   RESOLVED:   1.  That the Council’s statutory Public Sector Equality Duty Return for 2025, as set out at appendix 1 to the report, evidencing our compliance in respect of the legal duty and progress over the last 12 months in delivering the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Strategy 2022-2026, be approved.   2.  That the refreshed Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Strategy 2022-2026, as set out in appendix 2 to the report, be approved as the Council’s ongoing framework for creating a fairer and more inclusive Cornwall.     Reason for the Decision:    As contained within the report.   Alternative options considered:   None other than contained within the report.   Conflicts of interest declared:   None.   Dispensations granted in respect of a conflict of interest:   N/A
