Purpose: To seek approval to procure and award a contract for the delivery of structural maintenance works in respect of carriageway resurfacing for a period of up to 8 years commencing on 01 April 2026 following the expiry of the council’s current contract.

Content: Cllr Joe Harris sought Cabinet approval to procure and award a contract for the delivery of structural maintenance works in respect of carriageway resurfacing for a period of up to 8 years commencing on 01 April 2026 following the expiry of the council’s current contract.     Having considered all of the information, Cabinet noted the report and RESOLVED to:     Delegate authority to the Executive Director of Economy, Environment & Infrastructure in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Highways to: 1.              Conduct a competitive process in respect of a contract for the supply of structural maintenance works in respect of carriageway resurfacing. The proposed contract shall continue for an initial period of 4 years and include a 4-year extension option.   2.              Award the above contract to the preferred tenderer; and   3.              Determine whether to exercise the above extension options at the relevant  times.
