Purpose:

Content: Noted that on 15 September 2025 the Proper Officer of the Council recognised the Independents and Greens as a Political Group of the Council.   Noted that the composition of the Independents and Greens is as follows: Councillor Majella Anning – Leader Councillor Tamasin Rhymes – Deputy Leader Councillor Ann-Marie Cousins. Councillor Lakshan Saldin   Agreed the appointment by the Independent and Green Group to the offices listed below for the 2025/26 Municipal Year:-   Leader of the Independent and Green Group   Councillor Majella Anning Deputy Leader of the Independent and Green Group   Councillor Tamasin Rhymes Reviewed the representation of different political groups on Member-level bodies following the recognition of the new political group.   Noted that the Independent and Greens are equal in size to the Conservative Group and note the arrangements as set out in paragraph 5.1.2 for the recognition of Opposition Groups on the Council.   Noted and agree the allocation of seats on Member-level bodies (Appendix A) of the report.   Appointed to Member-level Bodies for 2025/26, as set out in Appendix B of the report.   Noted that as the two minority parties are of the same size, to agree that allowances as set out in paragraph 5.3 are paid in respect of the new Group.
