Content: Salford City Council - Record of Decision   Title: Disposal of the Salfordian Hotel, Southport PR9 9LJ   I, Councillor Youd, Deputy City Mayor, in exercise of the powers contained within the City Council’s constitution, and following consultation with Cabinet Members at the Property/Regeneration Briefing do hereby;   Approve the disposal of the freehold interest in the Salfordian Hotel, 37 Park Crescent, Southport to Sefton Metropolitan Council.   Authorise the Council’s Legal Service to progress and complete the associated legal formalities and take all steps required to give effect to the above recommendation.   Authorise the payment to Booth Charities in line with the Grant Agreement as detailed in the report.   Delegate authority to the Executive Director of Place and the Section 151 officer to negotiate and finalise the commercial arrangements of this transaction and all other necessary ancillary agreements to allow the completion of the disposal.     The Reasons:             The proposed disposal of the Salfordian Hotel represents a strategic release of a non-operational asset located outside the Salford boundary. The disposal supports the Council’s objective to rationalise its property portfolio and reduce liabilities associated with vacant or underutilised assets. The agreed terms, including use restrictions and overage provisions, safeguard the City Council’s long-term interests and ensure the property continues to serve a public benefit.   Overall, the disposal offers best value, promotes inter-authority collaboration, and enables the redirection of capital into priority areas.   Assessment of Risk: low  Legal Advice obtained:  Jon Paramor - Group Leader, Shared Legal Service Financial Advice obtained:  Grace Rogerson - Capital Finance Manager.   Procurement Advice obtained: N/A   HR Advice obtained: N/A.   Climate Change Advice obtained: N/A.     The following documents have been used to assist the decision process -public/briefing report submitted to Property/Regeneration on 13th October 2025 Contact Officer: Rachel Ball Graduate Surveyor, Regeneration (Property Services) rachel.ball@salford.gov.uk    *           This decision is not subject to consideration by another Lead Member/Director *           The appropriate Scrutiny Panel to call-in the decision is the             Growth and Prosperity Scrutiny Panel.     Signed: Councillor Jack Youd Deputy City Mayor and Lead Member for Finance, Support Services and Regeneration   Dated:13th October 2025     This decision was published on Monday, 13th October 2025                                              This decision will come in force at 4.00 p.m. on Monday, 20th October 2025 unless it is called-in in accordance with the Decision Making Process Rules.
