Content: A vote was taken (14 voting in favour, 7 voting against, 0 abstaining from voting) on an amendment by Councillor Brian Milnes, which was carried.     A vote was taken (21 voting in favour, 7 voting against, 0 abstaining from voting) and the amended motion was carried as follows:   “This Council believes: ·       It is important to actively engage with the public we serve ·       The process of asking public questions is important for transparency, accountability and public confidence in our local authority. ·       Supplementary questions are a useful tool to ensure the public receive answers that are comprehensive.   Council notes: •       The Constitution and Ethics Committee at Cambridgeshire County Council has looked at removing is looking to remove supplementary questions from members of the public, in order to allow a larger number of people to ask questions within the available time. This will be debated and a decision will be made by Cambridgeshire County Council’s full council.   Council resolves to:  ·       Protect supplementary questioning from members of the public in our public speaking protocol. ·       For the Leader of the Council and Leader of the Opposition to write to all Group Leaders the Leader of Cambridgeshire County Council informing her of this motion and asking that its contents be taken into consideration on behalf of South Cambridgeshire residents. urging them to drop/oppose any plans to remove supplementary questions, which will adversely affect this Council’s residents.”
