Decision
North Paddington Serious Violence Taskforce - Council Response to Recommendations
Decision Maker: Cabinet
Outcome: Recommendations Approved
Is Key Decision?: Yes
Is Callable In?: Yes
Date of Decision: November 17, 2025
Purpose: Cabinet will consider the recommendations made by the North Paddington Serious Violence Taskforce, and detail how the Council plans to respond to the recommendations.
Content: Cabinet approved the following recommendations: · Approves the Council's response to the recommendations of the North Paddington Serious Violence Taskforce as set out in Appendix 2. · Approves the initial spend of £150,000 to implement the Council's response to the recommendations of the North Paddington Serious Violence Taskforce, as specified in paragraph 4.9. · Delegates authority to the Cabinet Member for Communities to approve the further spend of up to £100,000 to implement the Council's response to the recommendations of the North Paddington Serious Violence Taskforce. Reasons for Decision The North Paddington Serious Violence Taskforce has identified key areas for the Council, other public agencies, the voluntary and community sectors, and communities themselves to work together on. The Council's response to the recommendations suggests piloting new, place-based approaches to respond to the issue of serious violence. By approving the spend allocated to implementing the Council's response to the Taskforce's recommendations, the Council will drive forward both, its response to serious violence in North Paddington and its contribution towards the systems change that the communities in the area have asked the Council for.
