Purpose: To consider a call-in to the Portfolio Holder Decision made on 12 December 2025

Content: Communities Overview and Scrutiny upheld the call in and recommended that the Portfolio Holder for Transport and Planning reconsider the decision, taking into account the following recommendations:   To reduce the 15-minute charge to 35p from the proposed 45p, and if necessary, increase charges for higher time periods for revenue purposes. To consider introducing a new 10-minute free parking period. To engage with local businesses affected by the proposed 15-minute charge increase on any future increases, acknowledging that the other price bands are determined by district and borough car parking rates.
