Purpose: The Gaelic Language (Scotland) Act 2005 requires all local authorities to publish a Gaelic Language Plan (the Plan) and to monitor progress of actions within the Plan. The Council is now required to submit its statutory progress report for the period 2023 to 2025 to Bòrd na Gàidhlig.
Content: Officers to: update wording in the report section on support to artists to avoid implying that requests were refused; and verify and provide information on the number of Gaelic digital books (currently stated as 83) by consulting the Library Service, ensuring the response to the Board is accurate and neutral.
