Purpose: Cabinet are asked to endorse the Newcastle City Council Rough Sleeping and Homelessness Strategy for 2025-2026. The Homelessness Act 2002 requires local authorities to carry out a homelessness review and formulate a homelessness strategy based on the results of the review every five years.

Content: Cabinet agreed to:   i)  Approve the Newcastle Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Strategy 2025-2030.   ii)  Delegate authority to the Director of Housing and Communities in association with the portfolio holder to oversee the implementation and monitoring of the strategy through an action plan.
