Decision

SRFS Aberdeenshire Unwanted Fire Alarm Signals (UFAS) Thematic Report 1 July 2023 to 30 June 2024

Decision Maker: Communities Committee

Outcome: For Determination

Is Key Decision?: No

Is Callable In?: No

Date of Decision: September 5, 2024

Purpose: Report providing information on unwanted fire alarm signals in Aberdeenshire over the 12 month period July 2024 to June 2024.

Content: Officers to circulate a link to the leaflet ‘Worried about money’ to all Members.   Officers to circulate a briefing note on work being done locally in terms of engaging with communities and ensuring they are aware of and can contribute to the ongoing initiatives (projects led by AVA; mental wellbeing).   Members’ comments: an engaging document with infographics and illustrations to provide a more visual illustration of the data would be helpful; focus on Banff and Buchan – a link to the work done by other area community planning groups would give a whole picture; learning through sharing good practices between areas should be encouraged; a thought should be given to any other way, than by numbers of people, of measuring impact to be able to record positive outcomes; can additional partners be involved in the work as well right across the business community; increase in the poverty numbers due to better ways of recording and monitoring the poverty data; can community partners be listed in the report; lack / no access to rural childcare - can that obstacle be more included in the work.
