Request support for North Hertfordshire
We're not currently able to provide detailed weekly summaries for North Hertfordshire Council. We need support from the council to:
- Ensure we can reliably access and process council meeting information
- Cover the costs of processing and summarizing council data
- Maintain and improve the service for residents
You can help make this happen!
Contact your councillors to let them know you want North Hertfordshire Council to support Open Council Network. This will help ensure residents can stay informed about council decisions and activities.
If you represent a council or business, or would be willing to donate to support this service, please contact us at community@opencouncil.network.

The Letchworth Community Forum was scheduled to consider an application for funding from a local charity, and to receive presentations from a range of local organisations.
The Forum was also scheduled to receive updates from the Council and local Councillors.
Funding for Carers in Hertfordshire
The Forum was scheduled to consider an application for a grant of £1,393 from Carers in Hertfordshire1, to help fund the running costs of their carers support hub in Letchworth.
Carers in Hertfordshire are a countywide charity for unpaid carers looking after a friend, neighbour or relative due to illness, frailty, mental health need, disability, or substance misuse.
The money would go towards the costs of volunteer staff, room hire, refreshments and activities at the hub.
The Letchworth hub is one of 16 run by the charity. According to the report prepared for the meeting, 67 unpaid carers have used the hub over the past year, attending a total of 167 sessions.
The report notes that the charity has also applied for funding from Royston Community Forum and Hitchin Community Forum.
The report also notes that if the grant were to be approved it would use the remainder of the Letchworth Community Forum's grant funding for the 2024-2025 financial year.
Presentations
The Forum was scheduled to receive presentations from:
- Letchworth BID
- Everyone Active Communities Team
- Citizens Advice
- Councillor Daniel Allen
Councillor Daniel Allen, Leader of the Council, was scheduled to deliver a presentation about the recent consultation on parking charges.
Community Updates
The Forum was scheduled to receive an update on the work of the Council's Community Partnerships Team.
The update included the news that the team has launched the North Herts Heroes Awards, a scheme to recognise the work of people in the community, with awards set to be presented at the Chairs Civic event on 28 February 2025.
The update also highlighted recent grants from the North Herts Prosperity Fund, a fund of £210,000 provided by the UK Government, including £19,775 awarded to Green Care at Norton towards a low-emissions van, £9,769 to Letchworth Eagles Football Club towards a refreshment area, and £5,500 to Letchworth Garden Shed towards a tech recycling project.
