This meeting was scheduled to receive verbal reports on the East Midlands Ambulance Service and the Committee's work programme. It was also scheduled to receive a presentation from the Integrated Care Board (ICB) on its Joint Forward Plan (JFP).

East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS)

The committee was scheduled to receive a verbal report from Craig Whyles, the Divisional Director for EMAS in Derbyshire. The report provided a snapshot of several key performance indicators in the service and described how the service is working.

ICB Joint Forward Plan (JFP)

The meeting was scheduled to receive a presentation on the progress made by the ICB in implementing its Joint Forward Plan. The report described the JFP's five guiding policies.

The report also described the progress the ICB has made against the aims of its Primary Care Access Recovery Plan. The plan contains three aims:

It then describes the ICB's plans for managing its finances for the rest of 2024/25.

For the remainder of 2024/25 the NHS is focused on delivering three things:

1. To continue to provide safe and effective emergency care over the course of the period, recognising the need to balance and prioritise operational and clinical risk to achieve this.
2. To deliver continued improvements in our cancer, mental health and elective care position to ensure we continue to attend to the needs of those patients awaiting important non-emergency care.

It then describes the ICB's plans for the next 12 months.

Work Programme

The committee was scheduled to receive a verbal report on the Committee's future work programme. A draft of the work programme was provided, which included a request from Councillor Gary Musson for a report from the ICB on access to medication.
