The Committee was scheduled to consider a report on the production of the council's revenue budget for 2025-26.

The production of the Council’s budget is undertaken in accordance with the requirements of the Council’s Constitution.
It also provided a summary of the financial context for the budget.
The report contained the following key points:
- Derbyshire County Council was forecasting a net overspend of £28.104m against the approved revenue budget for 2024-25.
- The report identified several cost pressures facing the council, including pay pressure, ongoing pressure related to the costs of providing social care packages, expected budget pressure in relation to children’s home to school transport services, and the impact of the rising cost of borrowing.
- The report set out the proposed timetable for setting the budget, including details of how the council planned to consult with stakeholders.
- The report summarised the key announcements in the Autumn Budget 2024 relevant to local government.
- It included an assessment of the equality impact of the budget.
The Committee was scheduled to consider a recommendation to note:
- the timetable for completion of the 2025-26 budget,
- the commencement of annual pre-budget engagement, and
- the key announcements in the Autumn Budget 2024.
The meeting was also scheduled to receive any questions from members of the public.
