Summary
The Taxi Licensing Committee were scheduled to meet on Thursday 5 June 2025 to discuss appeal cases, exemptions to certificates of good conduct, and several private hire vehicle and driver licensing issues. Some of the licensing issues were scheduled to be discussed in private due to the confidential nature of the information.
Licensing Decisions
The Taxi Licensing Committee were scheduled to consider several applications and reviews of licenses:
- Two applications for the grant of a Private Hire Vehicle Driver Licence.
- Three reviews of the status of existing Private Hire Vehicle Driver Licences. One of these reviews also included a review of a Private Hire Vehicle Licence.
Exempt Information
The committee were scheduled to consider passing a resolution to exclude the press and public from the meeting during discussion of certain items. This was because these items were expected to involve the disclosure of exempt information as defined in the Local Government Act 1972 and the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
Other Items
The committee were also scheduled to:
- Note the appointment of Councillor Keith Moore as Chair, and Councillor Anne Freeman as Vice-Chair, of the Taxi Licensing Committee for 2025/26.
- Receive the results of judgements on appeal cases that went to court.
- Receive information on the number of Certificates of Good Conduct Exemptions Granted.
- Confirm the minutes of the previous meeting held on 1 May 2025.
