The Traffic Regulation Orders Sub-Committee of City of Edinburgh Council met on 4 September 2025 to discuss several traffic-related issues. These included proposed changes to parking restrictions, the implementation of a traffic regulation order, and a review of communal bin locations. Meadows to George Street Traffic Regulation Order
The committee was scheduled to discuss the Meadows to George Street Traffic Regulation Order TRO/21/32 and Redetermination Order RSO/21/08. The Meadows is a large public park in Edinburgh, and George Street is a major shopping street.
Proposed Amendments to Parking Restrictions
The agenda included a discussion of the objection report for proposed amendments to parking restrictions within the Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ). This was listed as report TRO/24/24. Controlled Parking Zones are areas where parking is regulated to manage demand and ensure access for residents and businesses1.
Communal Bin Review
The committee was scheduled to discuss two reports related to the Communal Bin Review.
- Priority Parking Areas: The first report, TRO-23-35, concerned priority parking areas.
- Old Town: The second report, TRO-24-23, related to Phase 5 of the review in the Old Town. However, the agenda noted that this report had been withdrawn by the Interim Corporate Director – Place.
Approval of Prior Minutes
The committee was also scheduled to approve the minute of the Traffic Regulation Order Sub-Committee meeting held on 7 August 2025. The minute of 7 August 2025 was submitted for approval as a correct record.
